One fateful morning, the founder of Louis & Beans Coffee Roasters had a cup of coffee that didn’t quite cut it. Instead of waking him up and giving him energy, this popular brand of coffee left him feeling lethargic. It seemed to be lacking in taste too, almost stale! From then on, he vowed to find ways to do coffee better. On his coffee journey, he learned the massive difference that fresh-roasted coffee makes, as opposed to who-knows-when-it-was-roasted coffee. He learned that major coffee brands put extra things in their coffee…besides coffee! They burn their coffee to mask the flavor notes instead of highlighting them. 

When you taste how Louis & Beans does coffee, we’ll think you’ll agree – they do coffee better.

Louis & Beans is leading the way in zero-emissions practices. They use a zero-emissions commercial roaster, and is the first to operate in Northern Colorado! Their delivery vehicle, a Tesla, is zero-emissions as well.

Their dogs – Louis and Beans played a major role in establishing the brand’s identity. We wanted to keep it quirky and playful, yet serious and to the point. As they are a start-up we thought of ways to keep the printing and production cost to the minimum. We took a minimalist monochromatic approach and introduced subtle pastel hues to differentiate the different bean origins. This approach meant that we could save our client money as they would only had to print two varients of the bags. A black kraft-paper bag for all coffee of origin and a white kraft-paper bag for the single origin coffee.
